The Nigeria National Anti-Doping Committee (NADC) joined the global clean sport community on 17 April 2026 to mark the World Anti-Doping Agency's (WADA) annual Play True Day, organising a full day of impactful anti-doping engagements centred on the 2026 theme — "Play True: It Starts with You."

The NADC's activities brought together athletes from across the country in a two-part programme that combined a high-energy physical campaign at a landmark national venue with a structured virtual panel discussion featuring some of Nigeria's most recognised sporting figures.

Physical Campaign

Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja  ·  8:00 am – 12:00 pm

The morning session saw NADC officials and representatives engage all athletes present at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, in a vibrant four-hour physical campaign. Athletes were educated on the meaning and significance of WADA Play True Day and immersed in the spirit of this year's theme — "Play True: It Starts with You" — which places personal responsibility and individual commitment at the heart of the clean sport movement.

The campaign delivered key messages around the importance of clean competition, the dangers of doping, and each athlete's personal role in upholding the integrity of sport. Interactive discussions encouraged athletes to reflect on their values and the impact their choices have on their teammates, opponents, and the broader sporting community.
