Whereabouts


Whereabouts information is important to an anti-doping program and for planning testing efficiently. Whereabouts information help ensure that athletes can be located any time for testing.

Only athletes in the Registered Testing Pool (RTP) are required to fill and update their whereabouts information regularly (quarterly).


Whereabouts Failure

Inaccurate, incomplete, out-of-date information, as well as a failure to submit on time by an athletes can lead to a sanction. The following are regarded as whereabouts failure:

Filing Failure: Locations are not recorded or updated on time, or in insufficient detail was provided

Missed Tests: An RTP athlete could not be located for testing within the defined 60-minute time period at the stated location.

Any combination of three missed tests and/or filing failures within a 12-month period are deemed to be a whereabouts failure. Under Article 2.4 of the NADC National Anti-Doping Rules and WADA Code, whereabouts failure constitutes an anti-doping rule violation, and may be punished by a suspension.
